In April 2009, one project installation company the customer of our distributor from Sneek the Netherlands, made a decision to install LED street lighting, initially as a pilot project on the Street in front of their offices and quite possibly as a long-term complete replacement. Before the replacement, 150watts HPS lamps were utilized. After they replaced the HPS lamps with Kingsun Opto made 30 LED street lights with 4 meters mounting height, they tested and found using power meter that at least 60% energy saved. This pilot project has been working as an outdoor showroom attracting more and more business partners of the installation company and our distributor and all the visitors i.e. the business partners were amazed and convinced a lot. They are all very much confident in this solid state lighting (high power LED street lighting, 1watt per led) business or cause. They are working hard to do retrofit project and try their best to convince their own partners like the investors, the project contractors, the government officers by the pilot project with the perfect performance by the fact. They are applying for the granting/funding from the government. The new generation street lighting i.e. solid state steet lighting (SSL) is going to be widely used and is to be well known by the world soon. We wish to share success with all the people who regard SSL or LED lighting as their cause. Kingsun LED Street Light Project in New Zealand at Aug, 2009.

In August 2009, one of our customers from New Zealand achieve a pilot LED street lighting project in a roads intersection area in the city Christchurch). Before the replacement, 150watts HPS lamps were considered to be used to illuminate this intersection area. The mounting height is 11 meters, the pole spacing is 30 meters, and the road width is about 15 meters.
Before installation we requested to the customer that they needed to provide us with the road plan with the pole spacing and road width specified, also we were told what light level in New Zealand road lighting standard we need to comply with, we therefore asked our lighting design team to do illuminance and luminance simulation calculation showing the customer and the end user what light distribution our LED street lights will create and why this street lighting configuration meet their road lighting standard. After installation, the end user test the illuminance using their lux meter and test the power conservation and they are very much satisfactory. After this pilot project, the partner customer has an outdoor showroom to show the light they are promoting and just let the product talk to the end user and get the business go further easier and easier, because that’ll be the first time for the end users to experience this new generation street lighting, what can convince them is not only the theory why LED street lighting really works well, but also the fact that the end users trust mainly.
Oceania is a continent well known as a better place for living because of the current perfect environment and environmentally friendly people and their ideas for environment protection and national laws for environment protection. As a result, we believe our LED street lights and other outdoor lighting products will help a lot with this continent and make it greener and greener.

Kingsun LED Street Light Project in Hongkong at April 2009.

In October 2009,the Climate Group(TCG)launched the LightSavers programme in Hongkong and in other world cities.The Hong Kong University of Science and Technolgy(HKUST)was selected as one of the pilot hosts in Hong Kong.Kingsun Optoelectronics Co.,Ltd.(Kingsun)was invited to participate in the LightSavers programme by providing a LED luminaire product for pilot testing at the HKUST pilot site.
Before installation we supplied four 42W High Power LED Street lamps to instead of the baseline luminaires should be cleaned,and a total of tweleve lam poles were retrofitted with Led luminaires.The Seafront Driveway at the HUST campus.
Both photopic(the human vision under daylight conditions)and scotopic(the human vision under dark conditions)illuminance will be measured simultaneously.The data can then be used to build the scientific case for government policies and standards in mesopic scales(the human vision under intermediate illuminance levels).Illuminance levels are measured once a month.A total of 12 random monthly measurements over a period of one year will be conducted to yield performance data across all seasons.
TCG was granted the right to publish and share the performance data of the supplied luminaires,amongst the participants of the lightSavers progamme as well as the wider stakeholders.We are all very much confident in this solid state lighting testing.

This is the sixth High Power LED Street Light Retrofit Project in Shipai,until this project,we have already replaced 10,000 HPS Light to High Power LED Street Light.The local Governmant feels happy with the Energy Saving and the Uniformity od the LED Road Lighting.

Kingsun LED Street Light Project in USA at April 2009.

After internal evaluation from NYDOT, 4pcs of cobra head street lights (KS-8328/112T4) from Kingsun were installed on the service/entry road to NY Interstate Highway 495(Long Island Expressway) by NYDOT. This is a major highway within NYC having heavy truck traffic almost 24 hours per day.
The 8328 series Cobra Head was successfully developed in March 2009. Testing had been conducted to further meet road lighting standards and some typical lamp structures were incorporated into the lighting design, which enabled cobra head street lights to receive a lot of attention during LFI New York.
NYDOT will have on-site evaluation on all the LED street lights installed to make its final approval in four months while the NYC DOT is waiting for the funding for this project from the US Federal Government.

Kingsun LED Street Light Project in Spain at October 2009.

Good news from our exclusive distributor Kailas/ Lido, a large number of Kingsun LED street light has proved its surprising performance in Avenue Mason nave lighting project in Spain. See reports from Interempresas:
In order to decrease energy expenditure, Alicante City Council has installed a large number of LED street lights in one of its main commercial streets: Avenue Mason nave.
Almost a hundred of LED street lights replaced the previous lamps with a 66% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions and sulfur into the atmosphere. The new lighting emits a total of 12 tons of CO2 per year, compared with 35 of the conventional Lighting, LED-based technology will product an annual cost of 4145 euro per year.
In addition to limit emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) and sulfur (SO2), LED technology will contribute to a reduction close to 66% in electricity consumption. Compared with 13,139 of sodium vapor lamps, the new lights are spending a total of 4145 euro per year. In this way, the city will avoid wasting of 8994 euro a year (68.45% or less) with the installation of these 99 units. Also, LED lighting, provided by energy saving Lido light company, has a lifespan exceeding 10 years when compared with two years of a sodium vapor bulb. In numbers, the administration will pay 89,940 euro less Alicante during decade, limiting the cost of maintaining the facility.

Kingsun LED Street Light Retrofit Project in Dongguan on March,2010

Kingsun completed about 2000pcs LED street light retrofit project in Dongguan Levee on March, 2010 to replace the existing HPS lamps.
Kingsun replace the original 250W HPS Light with High Power LED Street Light KS-A112TX series. With 4 lanes, 2 directions, 25m pole spacing,mounting height of 8m,., the average illumination at 8 meters height is about 26.8lux by on-site examination.Kingsun Optoelectronic successfully won the bid with its own b technical ability, good product quality, excellent after-sale service and advanced operation system. This project mainly involves in replacing all existing high pressure sodium lights with new LED lamps, including the installation of LED lamp wireless control terminal, LED lamp wireless controller and some supporting facilities.Strict requirements in company qualification, lamp technology, light source technology, etc are demanded for this program.
According to the introduction from street light management department, LED has the advantages of pollution-free, little electricity consumption, high light efficiency, long lifetime,etc. This retrofit project means much to energy saving of city lighting and improve the safety and comfortness when driving on Dongjiang Levee.
